The Dolores Boschert Higher Education Scholarship was created to honor the memory of Dolores “Dolo” Boschert who passed away on May 24, 2022 at the age of 23. Dolores was working as a paramedic and seeking a job as a firefighter. She loved the first responder field and had a passion for it that was unmatched. From delivering babies to saving lives, she couldn’t contain her excitement and joy at helping people and being the best in her field. She knew how to light up a room and enjoy life like it was one big party. 

Each year a $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in Dolores’ memory to a graduating high school senior who demonstrates a similar passion for their chosen field to assist in pursuing their dreams of higher education or specialized training. To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Graduating high school senior from a public or private high school in St. Charles or St. Louis County
• Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
• Proof of acceptance into a college or training program (a screenshot will do) and a brief description of the field of interest
• A video submission not to exceed 3 minutes on the topic of “What makes you passionate about your chosen field and how do you plan to share that passion?” (Bonus points if you can make the scholarship review committee laugh!)
• Two reference letters 

Applicants must submit a typed document including name, high school, GPA, chosen college/program (including proof of acceptance) and description of the field of interest on plain paper in 12 pt font and double-spaced. Please submit via email to dolomemorial@gmail.com with “Higher Education Scholarship Application” as the subject line along with your video submission. Please attach two reference letters to the email or have the referral letters separately emailed with your name as the subject line. 

Applications are due March 17. The scholarship recipient will be selected by the Boschert family. Recipients will be notified via email no later than May 24. If you have any additional questions, please email dolomemorial@gmail.com.

**Scholarship recipients are eligible for a one time renewal upon review and completion of a follow up interview demonstrating continued passion and high standard of conduct upholding the memory of Dolores.**
