The Dolo Passion Scholarship

The Dolo Passion Scholarship was created to honor the memory of Dolores “Dolo” Boschert who passed away on May 24, 2022 at the age of 23. Dolores was working as a paramedic and seeking a job as a firefighter. She loved the first responder field and had a passion for it that was unmatched. From delivering babies to saving lives, she couldn’t contain her excitement and joy at helping people and trying to be the best in her field. She knew how to light up a room and enjoy life while making everyone she touched smile and enjoy things too.

Scholarships Available

FOUR $1,000 scholarships awarded annually

Eligibility 

Open to graduating seniors heading to college, trade school, or other educational programs, as well as adults seeking training opportunities or career changes

Selection Criteria

Recipients will be chosen based on demonstrated passion for their chosen field, excitement for life, and confidence. Special consideration will be given to first responder careers

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit the following information in a document on plain paper (12 pt font, double-spaced) along with a video submission not exceeding 3 minutes:

• Name and Birthday (Must be at least 18 years of age)
• High School attended & GPA (Only required for graduating seniors)
• Proof of acceptance into a college or training program (screenshot acceptable) 
• Description of your field of interest
• A video submission on “What makes you passionate about your chosen field and how do you plan to share that passion?” (Bonus points for humor!)

Submission and Selection

• Submit application via email to dolomemorial@gmail.com
• Use “The Dolo Passion Scholarship Application” as the subject line
• Applications are due by March 17th of each calendar year

The Boschert family will select and notify scholarship recipients by email no later than May 24 of the same year.
